Cameron, the county seat of Milam County, is located on the Little River in north central Texas. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a population of 5,770, with a total area of 4.2 square miles. The city is located at the junction of U.S. Highways 77 and 190, approximately 71 miles northeast of Austin.

Attractions and Parks
Some of Cameron’s attractions include the Milam County Historical Museum, which was built in 1865 and includes exhibits of pioneer farm equipment and artifacts, as well as cells, shackles and a gallows tower.
Parks in Cameron include Cameron Park, Orchard Park, City Park, West 12th Street Park, Wilson-Ledbetter Park, OJ Thomas Park and Airport Park Complex. Cameron’s has a City Pool, which features horseshoe pits.
Because of its close proximity to Temple, the city is served by Scott & White Memorial Hospital, as well as the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, located southeast of the city, as well as the Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport and Waco Regional Airport serve the city.
