Round Rock is a city in Williamson County, located north of Austin. The city sits about 15 miles north of Austin, off of Interstate 35, and is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The city has a population of approximately 100,000 people.

Money magazine recently named Round Rock one of the best small cities in America to live; although small may be an understatement as the population is booming, at an 8.2 percent increase per year since 2009.
Round Rock is the home of the Round Rock Express minor league baseball team, an affiliate of the Texas Rangers. It also hosts the international headquarters of Dell, which employs about 16,000 people at its operation centers. The city also hosts one of the largest Premium Outlet Malls in the state of Texas and is home to an IKEA.
The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, located 15 miles southeast of the city, services the city. Round Rock has a wide several healthcare providers including Saint David’s Round Rock Medical Center, Scott & White Hospital-Round Rock and Seton Medical Center Williamson.
Transit and Higher Education
Roadways and highways in Round Rock include I-35, U.S. Highway 79, State Highway 45, State Highway 45 Toll Road and the State Highway 130 Toll Road. Capital Metro, from Austin, offers limited public transit options to the city.
Austin Community College has a campus located in Round Rock, as does Texas State University.
