Birth research in Texas stunted

The Texas Center for Birth Defects Research and Prevention has lost its federal funding. The center, which focuses its efforts along the U.S.-Mexico border, was one of eight state programs to receive funding from the National Birth Defects Prevention Study. Since its inception, the center has received approximately $10 million in federal funding and published nearly 150 papers.
