Cerebral Palsy Lawyer Reviews Case Claiming Substandard Care in Palm Beach County

Parents of a brain-injured baby have recently filed a birth injury suit against St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. The suit alleges that the mother received substandard care, and as a result her baby acquired brain damage during delivery leading to his eventual diagnosis of cerebral palsy. According to the plaintiff, the hospital admitted the mother at six months pregnant with ruptured membranes. After two weeks in the hospital, nurses found a blockage in the mother’s IV tube and a declotting drug was administered. Birth Trauma Lawyer Sees Hospital Negligence as Cause for Infant’s Brain Damage

A lawsuit has been filled against Bayshore Medical Center, claiming that the obstetrician’s failure to perform a timely C-section led to a baby’s brain injuries. The lawsuit states that the mother was admitted to the South Texas hospital at full term to give birth to her baby, but that the medical team failed to observe and document significant changes in the health and medical condition of both the mother and her unborn child, which ultimately caused brain damage. The complaint alleges that since the medical team did not observe or document any problems with the baby and yet the baby subsequently had brain damage, then clearly the medical team failed in its duty to provide adequate care. Additionally, other complaints filed against the medical team in the lawsuit includes failure to perform an emergency C-section in a timely manner, failure to perform the C-section in a sterile environment, failure to…

Every second counts during the birth of a child. If doctors wait too long to make a decision, it can cause lifelong complications, disabilities and an early death for the child. A birth injury lawsuit filed in Cook County alleges that a doctor’s delayed decision to order a C-section resulted in the death of a child just days after his birth. The mother blames the doctor responsible for the delivery and the VHS West Suburban Medical Center in Illinois for the newborn’s wrongful death. She also claims that the hospital failed to warn her that a vaginal delivery might not be the best option for her due to a previous C-section. During labor, the lawsuit says the mother suffered a uterine rupture and a severe loss of blood. The doctor eventually decided to perform a C-section. Her son did not have a pulse when he was born, and he died…
