Cerebral palsy is a diagnosis that first of all, means the child has movement problems: spasticity, difficulty walking, difficulty with coordination. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the child has any cognitive or thinking problems but often times they are associated.
As the child gets older, there may be delays in language: not developing words, not developing vocabulary, not putting together sentences. Then other problems with thinking, memory and thought processes and this is generally what is known as cerebral palsy.
